There were two main events that accelerated the coming of the revolution. the first being the execution of the rebel leader Vincent Ogé, and the second being the denial of the Declaration of Rights of Man. Both events resulted in more intense and armed rebellions, escalating until, in 1804, Haiti declared independence from France.
